These Sockeye Salmon fillets are harvested from Alaska’s Copper River, where carefully managed fisheries protect quality and sustainability. Naturally rich in protein and omega-3s, they support balanced, straightforward cooking.

Each fillet is hand-cut and frozen to preserve quality, texture, and flavor. Copper River Sockeye is known for its higher natural oil content, denser flesh, and deeper color. This allows better cooking performance in simple, clean preparations.

The Copper River’s cold, fast-moving waters contribute to salmon with strong structure and naturally rich flavor. Carefully managed fishing practices help ensure the long-term health of the fishery while maintaining the quality the region is known for.

Note: Orders may contain fillets cut from the tail end of the salmon, and may contain bones.

Wild Sockeye Salmon Profile

Sockeye Salmon, also known as Red Salmon, is one of the most popular salmon species around the world. The species of salmon is known best for its wide array of nutrients, natural bright red coloring, salmon-forward flavor, and its firm texture.

Your Wild Copper River Sockeye Salmon Dinner Fillets will arrive to you frozen over dry ice. For storing, place in the freezer or refrigerator. These fillets will maintain their freshness for 3-4 months while frozen. Upon thawing, each should be prepared within 1-2 days.

To prepare, begin by thawing the fillets - we recommend removing from the pouch and thawing overnight for 8-10 hours in the refrigerator.

Once your fillets have thawed, we believe the key to the best experience is taking your time and going slow. Slow cooking will lock in more flavor and support the best texture. You’ll know your salmon is ready when it turns from translucent to nearly completely opaque. Here are our guidelines for baking and grilling:

  • Baking: Preheat the oven to 275°F. Brush a baking tray with olive oil and place fillet skin-side down. Let bake for approximately 20 minutes. Do not flip salmon fillet

  • Grilling: Before heating up the grill, brush the grill and fillets with olive oil. Bring the grill to medium-hot and place the fillets on the grill. Season with salt and pepper. Grill until the sides become opaque and flip once until fully cooked.
