Alaska Crab Tacos
Ingredients
- 1 pound Alaska Crab Meat (Dungeness, Snow, King crab—whatever is your favorite!)
- 8 small flour or corn tortillas
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/4 cup diced red onion
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- 1 avocado, sliced (optional)
- Lime wedges, for serving
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Hot sauce or salsa (optional)
For the sautéed red peppers:
- 2 red bell peppers, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
For the sauce:
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine the shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, diced red onion, and chopped cilantro. Toss to mix well. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced red peppers and sauté until they are slightly softened, about 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Set aside.
- In another bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, lime juice, chili powder, cumin, and salt. This will be your sauce.
- Warm the tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave them for a few seconds until pliable.
- To assemble the tacos, spread a spoonful of the sauce onto each tortilla.
- Divide the Alaska Crab meat equally among the tortillas. Top with the lettuce mixture, sautéed red peppers, and sliced avocado, if desired.
- Squeeze fresh lime juice over the tacos for added flavor.
- If desired, drizzle hot sauce or salsa on top for an extra kick.
- Serve the Alaska Crab Tacos immediately with lime wedges on the side.
