Keyport's Alaska Red King Crab is harvested from the cold, pristine, and nutrient rich waters of Bristol Bay. Their extremely cold habitat slows their growth, allowing for a long lifespan and the development of larger and meatier legs. Merus is known to be one of the richest and most delicious parts of the Red King Crab, made up of the meaty top portion of the legs and adjacent shoulders.

Red King Crab

Harvested from the icy currents of the Bering Sea, Alaska Red King crab is the largest of all King crab species and can measure up to five feet across and weigh in at over 20 pounds.

The Merus is the largest segment of the crab's leg, situated between the "knuckle" and the first joint. It is the most tender and flavorful part of the leg. Meat from a Red King Crab is typically snow-white with bright red highlights.
