One of our most popular catches is back — after a multi-year hiatus, Reef Net Coho Salmon from our partners at Lummi Island Wild returns. The reef net fishing method is extremely rare — it was first practiced by the local indigenous people of the Lummi region using cedar canoes, and is now a traditional method passed down within micro-fishery families like Lummi Island Wild. The reef net method begins with creating a reef using lines and flags between two main platforms. As the flood tide runs, salmon swim into the reef which channels them over a netting between the two platforms. Once the salmon are caught, they are brought back to Lummi Island’s main facility and transferred to SeaBear's Smokehouse. Here, we portion each fillet and send every order to you fresh and never frozen.
Arrives at your door between Wednesday, September 23rd and Friday, September 25th.
Orders of our fresh Coho come skin-on and may contain some bones.
Other items ordered with your Fresh Coho will not ship until this catch ships.
